Q: Does Sounds4Fun eat up a lot of CPU time?

A: That depends on what sounds you choose to associate to what events. If you choose to play random instruments sounds from Garageband on every key press (choosing Rock Kit, for example, will make you sound like Ginger Baker every time you type an email or something), can cause CPU spikes going up to 30% or so depending on how fast you type (keeping a key pressed to repeat can cause the CPU to reach as much at 70% or more on my Intel Macbook Pro). On idle, Sounds4Fun will consume about 0.40% due to its polling for certain events.

Q: Can I add/define my own events?

A: Sorry, no. This requires changing the program code. You are welcome to suggest what new events you would like Sounds4Fun to handle and we'll oblige if at all possible :-)

Q: What are sets for?

A: Sounds4Fun comes out of the box with a number of sounds assigned to some events in what is known as the default set. We strongly recommend you Save Set as when you first start using Sounds4Fun and give the new set file a name and location of your liking. For example, if you intend to replace all the drum sounds with say guitars, you might want to call the new set file guitars. We would suggest saving it where you keep other documents you create and include it in your regular backup routine. Another useful set you may wish to create could be called silent where you assign no or very few quiet sounds.

Q: Will you wait another 8 years to come out with the next release?
